Michael Blaiss, MD, FACAAI

Dr. Blaiss is Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and Executive Medical Director of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in Memphis. He was Chief Resident at University of Tennessee/Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis and completed a fellowship in allergy/immunology at Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is board-certified in Pediatrics and Allergy/Immunology.

He is past President of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. He served as Treasurer of the American Board of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, a past member of the Board of Directors of the World Allergy Organization, and Past President of the Tennessee and Louisiana Societies of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. At both Merck and Pfizer Consumer Health Care, he served in Medical Affairs roles.

In 2005 Dr. Blaiss received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Louisiana State Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society. In 2013 he received the Gold Headed Cane Award from the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

Dr. Blaiss has presented at more than 200 medical meetings and co-authored or edited more than 150 articles and book chapters on subjects in allergy and immunology.
