With the rise in allergies in the school setting, more students are at risk for a life-threatening emergency. A delay in treatment for anaphylaxis is a risk for a poor outcome. Join Dr. Todd Mahr as he helps the learner learn to quickly recognize anaphylaxis and outlines how to treat these emergencies.

  5. Todd Mahr, MD

    Todd Mahr, MD, is director of pediatric allergy/immunology at Gundersen Health Systems in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He is also an adjunct clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison.

    Dr. Mahr belongs to numerous allergy societies, served on the Board of Regents of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and has received their Distinguished Service Award in 2008 and Distinguished Fellow Award in 2014. He is currently President-Elect of the College. He is chair emeritus of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention–funded Wisconsin Asthma Coalition. He is very active with the American Lung Association on a national, regional and local level. Dr. Mahr is the recipient of the ALA’s Volunteer of the Year award for the year 2000 and the 2007 Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services “Partners in Public Health” certificate of recognition. Dr. Mahr is also very engaged with the American Academy of Pediatrics.
